About the Event

Reimagined Toys is about seeing the value in the toys we already have and the joy they can bring when they are shared.

Woollahra Council is working with Joy of Giving to host this event.

Preparing to join the event: before coming to the Woollahra Toy Swap, involve your children in choosing toys they no longer play with and preparing them to be shared. It’s a simple way to help children learn that the things they have can have a second life and bring happiness to someone else.

When you arrive, your child can see the toys they have chosen to share become part of a new journey and experience the excitement of choosing a new-to-them toy to take home and enjoy. It’s a simple cycle of Play · Share · Care.

PLAY – Discover something new and enjoy the joy of play.

SHARE – Pass on toys that can bring joy to another child.

CARE – Learn to value what we have, make thoughtful choices and reduce waste.

Because when a toy is shared, the joy doesn’t end. It starts again.

What can I bring with me?

  • Bring no more than one bagful of toys that are clean, in good condition, and ready to share.

  • Clean and check your toys: Make sure all toys are wiped down and in working condition.

  • Soft toys: Soft toys must be washed or wiped clean prior to the event.

  • Battery-operated toys: Please check that batteries are working before bringing them. Replace batteries if needed. If you’re unsure, you can remove them. we’ll test all battery-operated toys together at the event.

  • Toy sets: Keep sets together in bags or boxes so toys remain complete and fun to play with. For board games or puzzles, place smaller pieces in separate bags and secure them with a rubber band.

Please note: Items that do not meet the swap guidelines may be declined at check-in. Due to space and capacity limits, we may also refuse items if large quantities are brought.

Simple rules to follow:

  • Ask yourself: Is this item good enough for my friend or another kid?

  • Due to safety concerns, you must check that all battery-operated items (toys, games and books) are in working condition and replace their batteries when necessary.

  • Battery-operated toys should have battery cases secured by screws or other means to prevent children from prying them open.

  • While there are no strict limits, please contribute items in reasonable household quantities.

  • We may refuse any items that are not in the desired condition, and you must remove them from the premises.

  • Participation in the swap is at your own risk. We cannot guarantee the quality, safety, or history of items exchanged. Please check the condition and suitability of any item before accepting it.
